Georgia Snow!

Snow in Georgia is awfully rare, even in the mountains. This year though, the snow was epic. It may have only been 2 inches (at most), but it made quite an impact. You may have heard. (It made national news.) With the storm approaching, every working adult in the city chose to leave work at the same time; which resulted in this...

The next day, the entire city was shut down; which meant a SNOW DAY!

Snow is great for stalking wildlife. A North American River Otter (Lontra canadensis) left its tracks as it crossed the walkway from the wetland into the pond.

It is tough to see clearly in this picture. The otter squeezed under the fallen branch and slid toward the pond.

Then there was the view of the familiar in an unfamiliar way.

Loblolly pine needles (Pinus taeda)

Sweetgum ball (Liquidambar styraciflua)
